Over the years, several endowment funds have been set up within VGIF as a result of special contributions or board decisions. The principal of these special endowments is never touched, but the interest is used for various purposes. These funds are managed within the VGIF Endowment Portfolio. The funds were created to provide grant funding for specific types of projects. **
Virginia Gildersleeve - a "remarkable woman who helped found the International Federation of University Women. In this she was a practical visionary, as well as being a fine student, teacher, educator, administrator and diplomat who walked the world stage." *
LOCAL:
This June, up to twenty scholarships will be awarded to young women graduating from the four Orillia secondary schools and who will be attending College or University. We also offer scholarships to graduating students from the Orillia Alternative School and the Orillia Learning Centre as well as Mature Students planning to enter a College or University in 2009.
NATIONAL:
The club supports the national CFUW Charitable Trust, which gives scholarships to women for graduate studies.
