He has authored three books &#8211; <em>Mariposa Folk Festival: A History, SuperQuiz Canada<\/em>, and most recently<em> The Lost Prime Ministers &#8211; <\/em>as well as many articles and book reviews. He was a columnist for the Toronto Star for over 30 years and taught elementary school. After retiring Michael became the artistic director of the <strong>Mariposa Folk Festival<\/strong> and is now <strong>President of the Leacock Associates <\/strong>that awards the annual <strong>Leacock Medal of Humour<\/strong>.
