The CFUW Orillia Education Foundation held a public Scholarship Fundraiser on July 21, 2024. The event raised over $700 for scholarships.
This unique fundraising event offered an exclusive look at a private collection of memorabilia from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s.
Meticulously curated by owners Jerry and Diane Popiuk, the double-car garage was a treasure trove of beautifully maintained and restored items. The walls are adorned with autographs from celebrities like Davy Jones of The Monkees, Elizabeth Taylor, Burton Cummings, and the real Peggy Sue and Donna — names immortalized by Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. Participants enjoyed the music from functioning jukeboxes or took a seat at the soda bar or booth, often finding themselves saying, “I had one of those” or “I remember that.”
The Memorabilia and More Tour will also featured classic, vintage, and race cars, including the rare 1912 Tudhope car, a 1962 Corvette, and a 1962 Thunderbird OSCAAR Hot Rod.
