We were grateful to have Krista Storey of Green Haven Shelter for Women, and Staff Sergeant Alec Stuart of the OPP share their voices and reflections. Our own Roline Maconachie took on the challenge of reading the names of the 14 women lost at École Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989.
The Orillia Native Women’s Group was unable to be in attendance but sent some words to be read.
Our sincere thanks as well to Councillors Dana Tuju, Janet-Lynne Durnford, and Ralph Cipolla for joining us. Our thanks also to a donor from St. Andrew’s Church who donated the hall rental for the event.
